2 5oz cans of Tuna (drained)
4 tablespoons sweet relish
2 boiled eggs (optional)
grapes (optional)
4 tablespoons sour cream
pepper (optional)
I need to get a better camera. But this should at least give you an idea of what it looks like! |
First, drain the tuna, and use a spoon to mash out the bigger chunks. Add the sour cream, and mix it well. I like my tuna salad to be a little soupier than I think most people would like it. So feel free to add more/less sour cream to your liking! The same goes with relish. I like the relish because it kind of masks the flavor of the tuna, so feel free to change the amount of relish!
The only reason I use sour cream is because I hate mayonnaise. I really just hate everything about it, the look, the way it feels, the way it smells, the texture, the flavor, and its not really that great for you either. Ugh...anyways use mayonnaise if you like it, but sour cream is just another option!
Add the eggs in. Again, I like a lot of egg in mine (if I add it. I don't always put eggs in,) so change the recipe around =) If I have eggs, sometimes I add a teeny bit of pepper. You don't want much.
If you wanted to change the recipe around a little, leave out the relish and maybe even the eggs, and use grapes instead. I personally prefer the relish and eggs to the grapes, but that's just me =)
This makes a lot of tuna. I have a small jelly jar that I use to keep the tuna from running around in my backpack before I eat it. I don't fill it up all the way, and I usually have some cheese and crackers and maybe some grapes or some kind of fruit. Dill triscuits are the best! If you haven't had them, you should definitely try them! They're a little salty, but they are really amazing with tuna.
You can also make a tuna salad sandwich. I think English muffins are best for tuna sandwiches because they're spongier, so the tuna salad doesn't soak into them as fast. Swiss or mozzarella cheese, and some lettuce and it'll be an amazing sandwich!
I will be posting more recipes, and I'm working on a post about easy to make snacks!
